Emyria Limited welcomes the announcement from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) to fund psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) for eligible veterans living with treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression.

This landmark Federal funding initiative establishes the DVA as the second major institutional funder to support this new model of specialist mental-health care, following Emyria’s existing multi-year agreement with Medibank Private Ltd (ASX: MPL) — Australia’s largest private health insurer.

The Australian Government invests more than A$300 million annually in veteran mental-health services, spanning hospital care, medications, and specialist programs. The DVA’s new commitment to fund PAP reflects growing recognition of the need for innovative, evidence-based approaches to address treatment-resistant conditions among veterans.

Emyria is uniquely positioned to support this new reimbursement pathway with established treatment programs, expert clinicians, regulatory expertise, and a growing national network of purpose-built clinical infrastructure.

The Company currently operates Australia’s only private insurer-funded PAP programs for treatment-resistant PTSD and depression under multi-year reimbursement agreements with Medibank. With insurer-backed programs in Perth and Brisbane, and additional interstate sites under consideration, Emyria’s clinic-network strategy is designed to scale safely and efficiently.

The introduction of DVA funding creates a new reimbursable pathway for eligible veterans, complementing the private-insurance programs already managed by Emyria.

The prevalence of PTSD and depression among veterans is roughly twice that of the general population, representing a large cohort of individuals who have not responded to conventional care and who could now access Emyria’s established infrastructure.

This new reimbursement pathway is expected to increase referral volumes, utilisation and throughput across Emyria’s existing and planned community and hospital-based sites, supporting scalable national expansion and strengthening predictable, recurring revenue streams.
